What does a home IV drip visit look like?

Step by step: phone call, price, examination and the doctor's decision about the drip.

Want to book an IV drip at home but not sure what the visit looks like? First we talk about your situation and the address. Booking a visit does not mean a drip will be appropriate – the decision depends on a medical assessment.

What do we agree on the phone?

Give the town, address and reason for the call. Tell us how long you have felt unwell and whether you have test results or a doctor's recommendations. We confirm availability and an individual price before the visit. We come to homes, hotels and other places of stay.

If you are calling for someone else, describe their current condition. Do not choose preparations on their behalf. See also what the price depends on.

What happens after we arrive?

The nurse or paramedic asks about symptoms, diseases, medicines and allergies and examines the patient. Based on this, a doctor decides what to do. A drip may not be needed or may not be safe in a given situation – another form of help may be recommended.

Can I choose any drip composition?

No. The name of the service does not replace medical qualification. Tell us what you need and what recommendations you have, but the doctor decides which preparations are used. This also applies to hangover drips and iron infusions.

How much time should I set aside?

Ask about the expected length of the whole visit when booking – it includes the conversation, the examination and, if appropriate, the infusion. The time depends on the individual situation.

When not to wait for a home visit

Loss of consciousness, seizures or serious breathing problems require urgent help – call 112. Suspected alcohol poisoning needs urgent assessment, not waiting for a booked drip.
